U.S. States that Waive
NCLEX for Canadian Nurses A candidate to be licensed as an RN or PN (Sometimes referred to as LPN, VN or LVN) must take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX® examination). While the NCLEX is required by every US State board of Nursing, several states have special regulations with regards to Canadian nurses and licensure by endorsement. The following 18 states waive the NCLEX examination requirement for Canadian nurses:
